The purpose of Singles Platform is to provide a protected & secured platform for singles to connect, network and interconnect for matrimonial reasons within the community.
Where: AT Matiya World, July 17-19 Convention
Why: Many Matiya children remain unmarried in spite of having attained marriageable age. This is a huge problem facing our Samaj today. This puts Matiya Samaj at risk of complete EXTINCTION in a few decades. We need to act & ACT NOW!!!
What: Here’s A Possible Solutions To Matiya Matrimonial Issues & Problems
Dear ALL,
We Hindus believe that… “Marriages are made in heaven”…..yes maybe they are…yet, in most cases its been either the parents, relatives or community members or certain community events that have sown seeds for most marriages that exist today or existed in the past.
Historically parents, relatives & community members have played the role of match makers bringing two souls together……time has come that we step up and aggressively direct our role as facilitators in helping our Matiya Youth to find their life partners from within the community before they look outward. Isn’t this our responsibility after all….our parents did it for us…shouldn’t we continue to play our part? ..as our customs & traditions dictate. Its time…. We need to act & ACT NOW!!!
We as adults need to make an effort to help & facilitate the process. Several months ago I watched a clip of how in China, many Families and friends helped find a match for their Children. Simply, Parents, uncles and aunts gathered in a square and exchanged information of their children. Couldn’t we do something similar at this forthcoming Matiya Convention in Dallas to help find soul mates among eligible Matiya Singles.
I suggest that during this Matiya world convention in Dallas, we provide a platform or a vehicle which will identify the adults who are aware of some one single looking for a partner/soul mate. This can be a parent, uncle, aunt or a friend who can maybe exchange details and if nothing more it will at least help start up a conversation.
Simply having a blue dot sticker on your convention badge can be used to identify you of your knowing some one single that is looking for a partner. That way those interested can approach each other and begin a dialogue and exchange information.
We all know of someone single who we can help. Our goal is to support and help the following.
Matiya world does not encourage any youth to be forced in to marriage but we are just attempting to help create a platform to meet and act as facilitators in the process. Maybe a time slot can be set aside each day of the convention in a separate room where the adults with the blue dot stickers can mingle and exchange information and possibly take the dialogue to the next level.
We all know what questions to ask. Some basics questions that may generally be asked about are:-
- What Gaam
- Parent’s names
- Age
- Height
- Education
- Profession
- Current Resident of what city etc.
I would encourage that friends and family bring pictures and detail of the kids. A lot of Matiya Singles may not be attending the convention due to work or time constraints but at least they will have some representation of sorts.
Matiya’s are only a few decades away from extinction if we do not take aggressive steps to provide a platform and do our part of acting as facilitators in helping find life partners from within the community.
Lets join hands in doing our part. I shall highly appreciate if my suggestions are taken in the right spirit and get the whole hearted support it deserves.
